Her shoulders were slumped forward and her head was low as she walked through the door. She drew in a quick breath with tears brimming her eye lids. Her lip trembled as she swallowed hard and let out the air with a heavy sigh. She threw her bags onto the floor as she walked deeper inside.
She sucked in another breath and held it in. She let out the air after a while and bit her lip. She listened to the noises coming from inside the bathroom and did her best to look alright.
“I didn’t know you were back.” Jongup smiled as he came out of the shower, with steam following behind him and a towel in his hands, drying his hair.
She faked a smile and forced out a laugh. “Just got back a minute ago.” She turned away quickly and brushed her hair out of her face.
Jongup’s smile faded as he inspected her from behind. “Is everything okay?”
“Hmm?” She held in her emotions. She heard his footsteps come up behind her. He placed his hand gently on her shoulder and peered around to see her face with his head tilted to the side and a worried look on his face.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” She answered while looking away.
“You’re an awful liar, you know?” Jongup gave her a sad smile. “What’s wrong?”
She shook her head while the tears started to fall. He was standing in front of her and even his sad smile faded away.
Without a word he hooked his arms under hers and she was pulled in tight to his body. She felt his lips on her shoulder and his fingers dug into her back lightly.
He was warm—like always. She took in a breath and let go. She slumped into him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She tried not to cry, but she was only human. She took a deep breath in, taking in his scent. He smelled of soap, but it was perfect.
He held her tight in his arms as he let her cry into the crook of his neck.
I know it's short, but I got a little wave of inspiration.
