He tried not to fiddle with his hands as he paced back and forth. He looked up to see her walking over to him with a smile upon her face. He felt himself smile as he walked over to her.
He couldn't really remember what exactly was said in the next few sentences until he snapped out of his trance and noticed they were going to one of the nearby carriages.
He automatically held out his hand for her as they neared and she took his hand that he held out to help her up into the carriage. He watched as she tucked her flowy dress underneath her and fix her white lace top after putting her hair to one side. Youngjae climbed up into the carriage and sat down next to her with a smile while he set his hands on the edge of the seat. He felt like a little kid in that moment when the horses started off at a slow trot.
He saw her look at him from the corner of his eye and he turned to her. She set her hands on the edge of the seat close to his and leaned on them with a smile. He felt his face start to turn pink when she brushed her hair back behind her ear.
She sighed and turned to the side as they passed over a bridge. He looked at how she leaned closer to the edge of the carriage to get a better look at the water slowly passing by underneath.
The whole ride was filled with the two of them pointing at things instead of laughter and words, but he found it comforting instead of frightening.
He jumped out of the carriage and held his hand out again. She took it once again and climbed out. He didn't let go of her hand once she got down and he laced his fingers with hers as he led her towards their next destination.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
Youngjae simply smiled at her before motioning towards a patio lighted with lanterns and a fountain in the middle and people scattered about. Some people danced slowly to the music while others sat across from one another at small tables.
"May I have this dance?" Youngjae asked as he held out his hand.
She nodded and took his hand. He spun her around and danced to the music playing. The piano mixed wonderfully with the winds as they danced.
He looked for something to break the silence between them and came up with something. "That dress looks really nice on you." He commented.
"You really think so?" She asked with a tilt of her head as he twirled her under his arm and he nodded.
They spun around and around until she looked up at him. "I'm feeling a little...dizzy."
"Kind of light-headed?" He asked as they slowed to a stop.
"Yes," she said with a nod.
"Then we should sit down." He looked to see the fountain right beside them and motioned over to it. She sat down with him right beside her. He looked into the water of the fountain and saw the piles of coins lining the bottom and reached in his pockets.
He pulled out a coin for her and one for him. He held it out and she blushed as she took it.
"Make a wish." She whispered as she closed her eyes for a second and flipped the coin over her shoulder.
He did the same and turned to see her looking back at him. He noticed that there was hardly any space between their faces. He gulped hard and leaned in slowly. He noticed her do the same and closed his eyes as their lips met. He felt fireworks until the second the parted.
He calmly took a breath in and asked, "What did you wish for?"
"It already came true, so no need to worry yourself." She said with a small smile and started to walk off. He stared stupidly after her and only snapped back into it when she turned back to him.
He hurried after her and put his hands in his pockets while he noticed that it was already getting late. "Would you like me to walk you home?"
"I'd love that." She smiled.
He looked around at the little shops that lined the streets on the way to her home when something caught his eye. The scent of flowers suddenly hit him. He waited until they neared the small flower shop to pull out money.
He grabbed her hand and nodded to the store. "Pick one."
A huge grin spread across her face as she reached for red rose. Youngjae handed the shopkeeper money and the lady smiled and nodded at him. "Thank you." He bowed his head slightly after she nodded at him and turned to walk.
She smiled up at him with the rose clutched to her chest. "Thank you."
He shrugged. "It's nothing really."
She shook her head and left it alone. She turned her head to him when they neared her apartment. "Thank you."
"For what?" He asked.
"Tonight."
He shrugged again. "You're welcome."
She turned once they arrived at the apartment's door.
"Can I ask you a question?" She asked.
He nodded.
"You asked me what my wish was earlier tonight and I was wondering what yours was." She looked down at her feet as she spoke.
"Would you like to make it come true again?" He asked as he lifted her head up towards him.
She answered by slowly standing up on her tip toes and tilting her head for another kiss. Their lips met again and Youngjae felt the same fireworks as he did earlier go off. He felt her arms wrap around his neck and he snaked his hands around her waist and held her there when the kiss ended.
"Thank you." He said.
He saw her face blush as she muttered. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight." He said as she opened the door to her apartment building. He sighed as he turned around and started to walk home.
He grinned as his mind played the night over in his head over and over again.
I'm not going to lie. I was inspired by the movie "Anastasia" for the dancing scene. I couldn't help myself because it was so cute and ugh. Ya know? I'm not overly fond of this, but I'm starting to not absolutely hate what I write anymore? Give me some feed back~!
